Tip 4 has always seemed insane to me!
Living in one of the most expensive cities in the country, I wouldn’t even consider moving elsewhere, and will make financial sacrifices to stay.

I think that concept must have originated in the US where moving from city to city is much more commonplace.

Personal finance is exactly that - personal. I think everyone should be educated on their finances but how someone spends their money or not is completely up to them.

I’m an advocate for aligning your spending with your values and being aware of how you spend your money. If you value handbags and are aware of your spending on them and how it affects the rest of your budget then it’s nobody’s place to say anything about your handbag spending.

Great post! I get so sick of the “standard advice”. Especially the “just move” one, as if it’s super easy to just find a new job, find a new house, and pick up and move your whole family...
