I love this idea of hiding them from yourself so you have to go looking. Internet marketing is intense and they are SO good at their jobs.

When I come across these gems, I drop them into a “Snippets” folder. I study them, I swoon over them, and I borrow bits and pieces of them to send better email.

I also avoid the malls or shopping in general when I'm feeling down. It can be a quick spiral if you're not too careful! Omg - seriously the worst when you think you've deleted and unsubscribed but you're magically on another one of their "lists". Drives me bonkers!

I have a few places that I like to get promotional emails from but there are a far greater number that I’ve unsubscribed from…..Sears was the worst and it took me forever to get rid of all of the tendrils that had infiltrated my inbox! I don’t do much shopping online so don’t have much of a problem with “them” tracking my buying habits. I also don’t shop as a pastime in physical stores any more. Shopping as entertainment lost it’s appeal once I paid off credit card debt. Come to think of it, buying stuff period has lost a lot of it’s appeal for me recently. But I do make it a point not to go online or in stores when I’m depressed, upset or unhappy so I don’t feel the urge to “self medicate” by buying stuff.
