I recall my first position leading a department. Interestingly, it was also in 2013, but with the big difference that I had worked in the organization for a while and had a better handle on things. Still, the first year was the most stressful in my life. I can’t imagine what it would have been like with the added financial and inappropriate supervisory pressures you experienced. Congratulations on getting out.
