Comment on To The Person Who Buys Their Lunch Every Day by Innis https://webgridx.top/person-buys-lunch-everyday/#comment-239 Thu, 30 Dec 2021 12:30:07 +0000 https://webgridx.top/person-buys-lunch-everyday/#comment-239 Capitalism makes the math easy here. If I’m making 80 dollars an hour and lunch takes me 30 minutes or 15 minutes to throw together, then the cost of that lunch can be 40 or 20 bucks respectively (not even counting the materials yet). Then, depending on the opportunity cost of spending that extra say 30 minutes every night going over my kids’ homework or reading to them… well.

Never heard about this before, it’s interesting to learn new things.

Comment on 8 Affordable Ways to Celebrate the Holiday Season by Catina https://webgridx.top/affordable-holiday-activities/#comment-1124 Sat, 04 Dec 2021 20:52:00 +0000 https://webgridx.top/affordable-holiday-activities/#comment-1124 When my kids were younger (single mom of 4) we used to always go tobogganing before we opened presents. I remember one year my oldest daughter showed up all decked out like she was going on a date or something. Not dressed for the weather for sure. I explained it might be hard for them to see and understand but I was creating memories and we were not going back home to eat the yummy food or open presents until everyone had a turn going down the hill. Eventually she took her turn (she went down the hill three times actually) and laughed. Which made everyone laugh and made me happy.

Comment on Everything We Buy To Keep Our Monthly Grocery Budget Under $300 by Danalyn Broder https://webgridx.top/monthly-grocery-budget/#comment-1005 Wed, 01 Dec 2021 07:59:08 +0000 https://webgridx.top/monthly-grocery-budget/#comment-1005 I love your transparency about how your lifestyle and budget around food may not work for everyone.

My partner and I are both cooking fanatics and we have almost zero care or concern over our grocery budget because of this.

Reading your tips and tricks for saving at the grocery store reminded me of some of your simple yet effective hacks that can benefit even the boujiee shoppers/chefs!

Things like:
– monthly stocking of staples like rice(!!!), spices and seasonings at Costco
-buying produce weekly for quality control and limiting waste

Thanks for being so relatable!!!!

Comment on Should You Buy a Tiny Home? by HelenStele https://webgridx.top/tiny-homes/#comment-1119 Sat, 13 Nov 2021 19:53:04 +0000 https://webgridx.top/tiny-homes/#comment-1119 Loved the article. I can’t fit my essentials into a tiny home but am fascinated by the concept. I saw a neat series on holiday stays that showcased many different types of homes. I like the idea of a house more than a camper style but wheels would give flexibility to change locations. Go for it.

I would want a big outdoor area to compensate for the smaller interior space and a lot of customizations to work for MY everyday life. I bought my 600 sqft condo with the plan to turn it into an Airbnb in 5+ years. And it was cheaper than what you were quoted with a better interest rate and low condo fees.

Comment on Should You Invest For Retirement Outside of a Pension? by Kara Foster https://webgridx.top/invest-for-retirement-outside-of-a-pension/#comment-1117 Sat, 28 Aug 2021 20:53:59 +0000 https://webgridx.top/invest-for-retirement-outside-of-a-pension/#comment-1117 Thanks for such a concise and informative post! I’ve been doing my own research after my spouse and I were discussing retirement savings, and comparing our pensions (his is DC and mine is DB). I had no idea how fortunate I was, and the differences blew my mind lol. I still invest in an RRSP, on my own, and it’s good to know I’m on the right track. This post was such a great summary that was easy to read. Wish I had found this first 😉
