You can totally do it! I know what you mean about weekend spending though. It can be so difficult. You almost have to find hobbies that are free that you can tackle during that time.

I do pretty well during the week but once the weekend comes I get bored and things can get ugly! I’m 6 month pregnant and my cravings are getting quite costly. I would like to challenge myself and go three whole days without spending…kinda like a spending cleanse.

That’s actually such a good idea. I should totally leave my debit card at home! hahaha RIP.

I stopped carrying my debit card in my wallet in January to put a halt to my tendency to impulse-buy. With working 10-12 hour days doing taxes (RIP social life) this time of year, I have about 8 transactions outside of auto-debits on my bank statement in the last month.

It was an awesome weekend! Investing after a period of no-spend is such a good idea. Thanks for sharing.

I believe happiness shouldn’t involve spending money. I do no spend weeks at times just to test myself with money management. After the no spend period I invest some money.

That’s very true! I actually find I regularly spend less money in the summer (outside of events), because there is more to do and I can get outside more often. Picnics and runs are my favorite summer activities! Definitely take on the challenge 🙂

When I was paying down my student loan I would give myself not necessarily a zero budget, but a super tight “budget” for those weekends. I’d bike everywhere, bring my own snacks/picnics/etc but still be able to grab a coffee or pint when needed to make sure I was still able to do the things I wanted. I’ve been really spend-y lately, so I think I should pick up the challenge again 🙂
